Ursel Bangert is Bernal Chair in Microscopy and Imaging at the University of Limerick (Ireland), following positions of Reader and Lecturer at Manchester and Surrey University (UK), conducting research in the area of electron microscopy for over 30 years. She has been the MSI president and was member of organizing committees of national and international conferences and workshops and also been involved in the conception and managerial activities of prominent Electron Microscopy Facilities at Liverpool University (Northwest STEM), at Daresbury Laboratories (SuperSTEM) and at Manchester University and is currently establishing an International Centre for Ultra-High Resolution Imaging and Characterization at the University of Limerick. Her current research activities concentrate on investigations of structure, growth phenomena and structurally related opto-electronic properties of Nano-materials, in particular of 2 dimensional materials (her characterization of Graphene has contributed to the Nobel Prize achievement in 2010 by A. Geim), to reveal materials’ features and dynamics on the atomic scale. She has got 300 publications including Nature papers, Review Articles, Perspectives, Book Chapters, and has contributed prolifically at national and international conferences including numerous invited talks and seminars.

With years of experience working at the GEIC (Graphene Engineer Innovation Centre) in Manchester and living in different countries such as Germany, USA, Japan, Brazil and UK he had the chance to assimilate different cultures and the opportunity to constantly adapt and value diversity, as well as studying at excellent institutions such as the University of Michigan and the Technical University of Munich. Currently responsible for managing the Sales team (UK North) at Yotta Volt, he is part of the provocative team tasked with fostering the mindset of cultural transformation and innovation."

Xianguang Yang received his Bachelor’s degree in Optics from Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in 2012, and completed his Doctorate in Optical Engineering with the theoretical and experimental combination of nanowire and nanoparticle photonics at the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies affiliated with SYSU in 2016 under the guidance of Prof. Baojun Li (Changjiang Scholar). He received National Postgraduate Scholarship in 2016. He became an Assistant Professor of the Institute of Nanophotonics at the Jinan University in 2016 and became an Assistant to the Dean since 2018, then promoted to Associate Professor in 2019. He has mentored 13 MS students and post-docs. His main research interests include photonics, plasmonics, nano-optics, detectors, optoelectronics and optothermal mechanisms, especially for fiber optical waveguide, which were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Yang has published 4 Book chapters, and 30 peer-reviewed journal publications, such as Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Optical Materials, Nanophotonics, Nanoscale, ACS Photonics, and etc. He has been an Editorial Board Member of Optics in 2018 and to be a member for RSC Advances Reviewer Panel since 2020. In 2023, he has been appointed as guest editor of Nanomaterials (IF 5.3), managing the Nanostructured Materials for Photonic and Plasmonic Applications. In 2024, he has been elected as Nanoscale Emerging investigator. He is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), Optical Society of America (OSA), Chinese Optical Society (COS) and Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE).

Dr. Sabiha Anas Boussaa is a prominent researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Technologie des Semi-conducteurs pour l’Energétique (CRTSE) in Algeria, where she has been working since 2012. She earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Université des Sciences et de la Technologie Houari Boumediene in 2018. Her research focuses on silica materials for photovoltaic silicon production, recycling silicon from solar panels, and developing thin films for CO2 conversion. As the head of a research team, she has contributed to several international projects, including SIREVIVAL and collaborations with Belgium on supercapacitors from recycled silicon. Dr. Boussaa has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and regularly participates in international conferences. She also serves on organizing committees for various scientific conferences and is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Computational and Experimental Science and Engineering (IJCESEN).

I Tarundeep Kaur Lamba completed M.Sc. (Applied physics) from Amity University Noida, India with 91.8% in the year 2019 with 100% Academic scholarship and received Silver Medal. I have completed my Bachelors in the year 2017 from University of Delhi, India with a percentage of 85.58. I have co-authored a research article published in Journal of Molecular Liquids (Impact Factor: 5.065) in the year 2019, which continuously motivates me to go for higher studies with research. Therefore, I pursue the Doctorate degree in Physics and joined PhD. in January 2022 from Institute of Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. The field of my interest is plasmonics and 2D materials basically focus on Graphene. I perform experiments and validate with Finite domain Time Difference (FDTD) simulations. I have currently published paper in 2024 in journal “Surfaces and Interfaces”.
